David Gardner is the Founder & CEO of ColorJar, a creative tech agency that specializes in brand positioning strategy and creating custom websites and mobile apps. ColorJar is based in Chicago, IL and has worked with everyone from Fortune-level companies to some of the hottest growth-stage startups.
In 2014 David was honored at the United Nations by Empact as an Under 35 Entrepreneur of The Year. In 2011, David received the Empact100 award at the White House as one of the Top 100 Entrepreneurs Under 30 in the United States.
David has spoken at such places as Google, IBM, Kellogg Business School, Notre Dame, and the United Nations. He leads Gov. Rauner’s Illinois Innovation Council, is on the advisory board of Women Tech Founders, and is a mentor at TechStars, Impact Engine, and Startup Institute. He has also written two videos for comedy website Funny Or Die.
Prior to ColorJar, David moved to India to co-found an online education startup that helped people pursue their goals. The venture received a partnership and acquisition offer from AOL. Later in Chicago, David served as Director of Web Products & Marketing for publicly traded uBid.com, where he led the repositioning and redesign uBid.com and helped create and launch sister website RedTag.com.
David co-founded his first startup – an organization that aggregated, created, and spread positive community news – while still a student at Dartmouth College. Also at Dartmouth, David was an All-Ivy League basketball player, was twice named the team’s Most Valuable Player, and was a finalist for Dartmouth’s Athlete of The Year award. He went on to play basketball professionally in Germany.
